Process inputs are items that originate from outside the process and provide information that is used to carryout the objectives of the process. Inputs can trigger the initiation of the process, or provide information that the process needs to meet the objectives of the process.

Inputs can also be defined at the task level. In this case, tasks perform a series of steps that turn the input into a value-ˇadded output.




Editor, Workspace User Admin


1. Click on the Edit edit button.png icon to update the Inputs or New Input to create a new one

2. Update all fields

3. Select Create or Update to apply the changes

4. Select New from Common (to select an input from a common list of inputs that may have been identified in other processes)

5. Select Copy to apply the changes



Field Descriptions

  • Name: Provide a brief and meaningful name for this input
  • Description: Provide a detailed description for this input
  • Supplier: Provide one or more sources for this input e.g. Other ITSM processes, Project Management Office (PMO), Support groups
  • Trigger: Check if this input acts as a trigger to initiate a task within the process
  • Common: Check if this input is suitable for use in other processes

Steps to Associate with a Task

1. Select an item from the list

2. Click on the Associate with Task action

3. Update all fields

4. Click on the Associate button
